Our school is an officially recognized (state approved)  school in Schleswig-Holstein, north of Germany which was founded in 2006. We have two different schools, located in Elmshorn and Hitzhusen with about 790 pupils and 102 staff members. We teach children from Kindergarten, primary school, secondary school and grammar school, where they can take their A-levels. Spanish is our second foreign language and we teach Latin from grade 7 till 9. Even in Kindergarten with preschool education we are playing and speaking English with the children every day.  
The main issue of our educational concept is the immersion education in primary school, bilingual lessons in secondary school, daily physical education and sport-profile and a non-sweet-school philosophy. Students can eat apples and drink water every time for free. Since this year we have the IB - Candidate status.

One of the main issues since the foundation of our school has been daily physical education. Based on the studies of Prof. Dr. Bös we started a cooperation with him and integrated daily physical education in our timetable . The main focus of this cooperation is the correlation between physical education and the students' cognitive performance. Our school has therefore emraced the importance of sports during our daily routine. Another key feature of our school Life Kinetics. Life Kinetics is a special training programme created by the Institute for Brain Research in Mannheim and the University of Cologne. It is the aim of Life Kinetics to raise the cognitive performance through physical activity. These method is also used by competitive athletes.  To complete the aspect of cognitive performance we will cooperate with Lebeleicht Hamburg, a small factory which produces Brain food. With the help of these experts we can produce our own Brain food and can illustrate the the connection between food and cognitive performance.
Two further main aspects of our school concept are our non-sweet-philosophy and our commitment to sustainable food. Our canteen only uses regional products from local farmers who are located in Elmshorn. Furthermore, we have qualified members of staff who are experts for nutritional science. Another teacher will illustrate the relation between sustainability and mass consumption in our society. A consolidation of this topic will be carried out by our partner „Nord-Süd-Kontor“ in Hamburg.
